"Aye aye empress." Rol saluted Val. "See ya in a bit."

And then off he went to the soul flow. At least, he was pretty sure he was supposed to go there. Or at least stop red cloak from getting there. Something like that.

Re: Necropalypse II DLC Aftermath

Rol soon reached the elevator that goes down to the chamber the orb is in. But the elevator was already going down. Rol looked down the shaft, he was pretty sure he wouldn't survive jumping down after it.
Luckily he noticed the emergency ladder. It was probably intended for when the elevator broke. But this situation could certainly be described as an emergency. So down he went.

As he started climbing down the ladder he heard the sounds of swords clashing outside.
--

After about twenty minutes of climbing Rol finally reached the bottom. The clashing swords and Mioki's song did not reach this far. The only thing Rol could hear down here was the sound of footsteps in the distance. He ran towards them.

--

Rol entered the chamber and once again lay eyes on the dark Orb that housed the source of the river of souls. It was much calmer than it had been last time he was here.
The red robe was nowhere to be seen. She had already gone inside.
So Rol followed.

--

Rol stepped inside and the black sand screamed beneath his feet. Immediately reminding him that the physics in this place did not make sense.
Above him he could see the river of souls flowing towards the glowing green lake in the middle of all this darkness.
Near that lake he also saw the red robe. In here she stood out even more.

--

Evinne was on her knees sifting through the black sand with her hands. She knew it had to be here somewhere and she absolutely had to find it.
At first she was too focused to hear the footsteps behind her. But then the screams of the sand got louder.

When she finally noticed she jumped up and brandished her staff. She glared at Rol who was now standing only a few feet away from her. She aimed her staff at him. He would not be allowed to interfere.

"I don't suppose you'll let me know what you're doing, or what you're looking for?"

Rol was sure to draw his guns, combat ready.

Evinne raised an eyebrow at the guy in front of her. She did not say anything, instead she raised her free hand and pointed her finger up. Her finger began glowing with a small trace of mana which she used to draw two letters in the air. She then struck a line underneath the word for emphasis.

NO

She teleported a few feet away, grabbed her robe and pulled it off in one motion. The robe landed a few feet further. She raised both her arms and the black sand around her began vibrating.
The sand flew up and formed something that looked like a massive cloud. The black cloud of sand covered Evinne completely.

The black sand then began fusing together into different glass shapes. Eventually it became clear to Rol that these shapes looked like giant human bones. The black shiny bones rearranged themselves into the shape of a giant skeleton. One even larger than Polyphemus had been and this skeleton had two eyeholes.

Floating in the ribcage of this giant black skeleton was Evinne, surrounded by a green forcefield. She stared down at Rol for a moment before closing her eyes. When she did this two glowing green orbs lit up in the skeletons eye sockets.

"Rude."

Rol watched her goth magical girl megazoid transformation almost inattentively. He yawned as her eyes closed.

"Let's becareful I don't break this toy of yours too." He boasted, but in his head he was a little panicked. He shot a couple rounds at the green force field, testing the waters

Each time a bullet hit the green force field the bullet exploded in a tiny flash. Some of the bullets hit the rib cage in front of the force field instead. Those bullets left scratches and small scratches in the glass bones.
Evinne and the force field remained unharmed.

The giant skeleton looked down at Rol and raised it's fist. Black sand flew up from the ground and gathered around the giant fist. The sand then formed into a spiral shaped glass spear. The Skeleton prepared itself to strike at Rol.
Some of the leftover black sand gathered above in the air and spelled out a final warning to Rol.

Rol looked at the warning  in the black sand.

"I mean, logically that doesn't make any sense. I'm sure you have some insane plan to destroy the world or whatever. So vague threats aren't really a good motivator."

Rol decided to run towards the skeletal giant. And hopefully, climb it.

The skeleton thrusts its arm-spear at Rol. Rol jumps out of the way and avoids the sharp tip. Evinne notices this and swings the arm to the side. Slamming the side of the giant glass spear against Rol.

The force of the impact sends Rol flying. Luckily the black sand makes for a soft landing although the screaming it does is still quite disturbing. Rol feels a sharp pain in his shoulder.

Rol then runs towards the giant skeleton again. Luckily its size makes it movement slow. Evinne winds up the spear arm for another attack.
But before the arm is halfway up Rol reaches the giant's leg and jumps on it. He manages to get a good grip on the leg and climbs up to the knee of the glass giant.

Evinne notices this and tries to shake the giant leg in an attempt to throw Rol off.

Rol uses his shadows, forming several grasping hands to enhance his grip and assist in climbing, hoping even with the increased effort (it was a bit harder right?) it takes to form them here that he manages to due so before he's thrown off.

"I'm on my way."

Re: Necropalypse II DLC Aftermath

Post  Kiro Cloudwatcher on Wed Jan 31, 2018 1:13 am

(I spent like over an hour reading through parts of the previous necro rp just to find out if Rol's shadow powers were impacted here. Because I totally forgot if it was the case or not lol.
Which was more entertaining than I thought it would be.

The only post I found that referenced it was you asking me the same question. My answer then was that the shadows worked like normal. Since I can't find anything that says otherwise let's keep it that way. I might have missed something but fuck it.

So no, you can use your shadows normally. I think it was Hersts magic that was affected.

That being said, the dice gods decided otherwise. Crit fail.)

The giant skeleton swings its leg really hard just when Rol tries to put his foot just a bit higher. His other foot slips, then his hands slip as well and he is thrown off the leg.
His shadows however still hold on to the leg. But then the leg comes swinging back the other way. Rol smashes into the leg face first.

The impact makes his shadows lose their grip and he falls to the ground. The sand screams loudly again. Rol's ear being right next to it means its uncomfortably loud.
The fall slightly hurts him.

The giant then lifts his leg up to try crushing Rol under its foot.

"I really don't want pancakes for breakfast." Rol quipped, as he attempted to roll out of the way of the giant foot.

"HEY RED ROBE, ANY VIDEO GAME WEAKNESS ON THIS THING??" If not, he'd try to climb again.

The Skeletons foot came down and narrowly missed the rolling Rol. When Rol called out to Evinne the giant skull rotated and two glowing orbs in its eye socket glared down at him. They twinkled for a split second.
She did not respond.

When Rol ran towards the leg to try climbing again the Skeleton swiped with its normal hand and grabbed him. The skeletal fingers squeeze around Rol.

(Bent over, in the process of slowly getting back to a normal stance. Rol is currently only slightly off the ground, lets say between 1 or 2 meters off the ground)

Rol tries to push against the skeletal hand with his shadows. Hopefully giving him room to wriggle out, but at least allow him to freely move his arms.

Rol manages to slip out of the grasp a bit, just enough to free his arms.

Just then The skeletal hand begins squeezing down hard on Rol. Luckily his shadows keep him from popping like a balloon. He doesn't take any damage thanks to his shadows pushing back with enough force.

As this is happening the Skeleton continues to lift Rol higher. Now he's double as high up as before.

Rol attempted to pull two explosives out and toss them with his now free arms at the wrist of the giant's hand. Still using his shadows to resist the crushing force of the skeleton.

The Skeleton notices Rol throw something and moves its arm to avoid it. This sudden motion causes Rol's aim to be thrown off slightly. The explosion that follows hits the arm bone instead of the wrist.

Because of the blast the giant skeleton looses his grip on Rol. The bounty hunter slips out of the giant hand and starts falling.
The ground now being five meters below him. Not that high but still enough to hurt if he can't soften the landing.

As he's falling he can see the smoke clearing away and notices a small crack in the arm bone hit by the explosion.

When Rol hits the ground he happens to fall on a pile of softer black sand. He bounces off the screaming sand pile and comes away from it with only a few bruises.

The skeleton regains its balance and leans back, readying it's spiral glass spear arm again.
As it does this it's other hand points to Rol, seemingly to help it aim better this time. While the arm moves to point at Rol black sand starts to leak from the crack.
Making it look like the skeleton is bleeding.

Rol charged at the skeleton, with some renewed vigor seeing that he actually managed to damage, or at least impact it. Rather than a straight line he moved in a zig zag pattern to try throwing off the giants aim. The bounty hunter tries to take a few shots at the crack, but with the distance, angle and his movement figured he wouldn't be able to hit it.

"AT-AT maybe?" He suggests to himself.

Re: Necropalypse II DLC Aftermath

The Skeleton moves it's arm, trying to keep up with Rol's zig zaging. But it's movement is too slow to get a good aim.

Rol manages to exploit this and gets a few shots in. The crack grows wider and more black sand flows out.

Evinne gets frustrated by the zig zaging Rol and decides to attack now. The Skeleton lunges it's spiral spear towards the center of Rol's erratic path. But it misses completely.

The force of the attack was so great that the spear is now stuck halfway into the black sand.
The skeleton puts its free hand on the spear and tries to pull it out with all it's might but is clearly having trouble. It seems the skeleton won't be going anywhere any time soon.

"AT-AT is a no.. But that's okay."

Rol noted the semi-restrained state of the giant and saw a decent chance. He once more tries to get onto the giant, ready to toss an explosive in the crack of the free arm, which would hopefully buy the bounty hunter some more time.

Re: Necropalypse II DLC Aftermath

This time Rol's climb is much easier since the Skeleton can barely move. So everything is much more stable. Rol climbs past the knee and all the way up to the hip bone. He's now probably about 7 meters off the ground.
Only a meter or two above him is the magic barrier that Evinne is floating in.

From here he can probably easily reach the crack in the arm with his explosives if he uses his shadows to throw or drop them where he wants them. It's only a meter or three up from him. Or he could climb higher up the ribs to get a better vantage point. That is if the Skeleton doesn't break free by then.

As the skeleton pulls to get free the spear starts to budge. It probably won't remain stuck for much longer.

"And a one more time." Rol tosses another explosive towards the crack, using some shadows to try to guide it along. They are mostly focused on keeping Rol on the giant, so the one's guiding aren't as effective.
