Ascending the Decent

You wake up. 

Someone is knocking on the door.

I get out of bed, walk to the door and knock back without opening.

The knocking stops.

"Well thats no fun."

I turn around and head for the fridge.

What fridge? The room has no fridge. Is it even your room?

The knocking now resumes, but it's more cautious. Slower and slightly heavier.

"Wait.. what was I doing?.. I could have sworn there was a fridge.. FINE stop knocking already I'm coming jeez."

I walk back to the door and attempt to open it.

You go to open the door and pull. Nothing. You push. Nothing. Something is wrong with your door. And the knocking will resume soon, you feel. 

You still had your hand on the door knob, wondering how it's meant to open as you don't even see any hinges or anything to indicate whether the door slides or swings. Then, a shock and then nothing.

You awake, again, in a room. Someone, or something, is BANGING on your door.

"Deja vu much?"

I get back up and go to the door. I examine it to see if I can figure out how to open thi one. If I even want to that is..

You note how the door hasn't changed for the last time, but do see that the knob looks to be of steel. You don't touch the door knob. You can't trust the door knob.

The bang bang banging continues.

I lean closer to the door and both out of fear, and curiosity. I ask:

'Who is there?"

The banging stops. You hear a muffled sound and just catch a voice say something unintelligible before the door opens.

You see... people. You can't describe them. They seem to register as people, but you can't quite grasp at what they exactly look like. You take several steps back and are very, very, very scared. They stop and try to make calming gestures as they try and slowly coax their way to you.

Out of the corner of your eye, you spot a stool to your left. The only other thing you register is the stairs out the door and the number 40 with what may be more numbers after it. 

You might be able to make the door if you play your cards right ad draw them in more, or try and hit them with the chair. but then again, you may have other ideas. What do you do?

Grab the chair and hold it in front of me to keep them at a distance and try to look for an opening for me to make a run for the door. If succesfull, throw the chair at them when they try to chase me.

You grab the chair and hold it by the legs in front of you and doing so stops the people(?) who are seemingly trying to reason with you and calm you. However, their distraction is all you need. You make the motion to lower the chair, the left and closest person(?) takes a step forward only to cop a blow to the head from the side and as the recoil of hitting the heads affects your arms, you move with it to throw the chair and the other person(?).

You run for the door during the commotion and quickly note these details.

• You are on floor 140.
  
• You can ascend the stairs or descend
  
• It seems to be a clear run devoid of obsticles and other people(?)
  
• No cameras
  
• Lots of doors, unknown exactly.
  
• The hallways from the stairs lead to bigger doors that likely connect to other hallways.
  

You can go up or down, or try any of the doors. 

You must pick quickly. [No post in 24 hours = caught]

I decide to descend, fumbling with doors could lead to getting caught and going up would lead no where. Escape must be lower.

You descend. 

You run down the stairs.

You are aware in the back of your mind that running down steps leads to bad things but you cast it aside.


You arrive at floor... 18? The sign does say Floor 18. So you are on floor 18, if logic is true. However, you can't go any lower. Going back up is out of the option... Looks like you will need to pick one of these doors. The floor is exactly the same as above... aside from the floor number and it will soon have two of those people(?) here if they are still chasing you.


5 doors to the left of the stairs on the right hand side.
5 doors to the right of the stairs on the right hand side.
4 doors to the left of the stairs on the left hand side.
6 doors to the right of the stairs on the left hand side.
2 doors, one at each end of the hallway, that likely lead to more doors.

What do you pick?

Door at the end of the left hallway.

You approach the door at the end of the left hallway and open it to find a classroom.... you look back to the door and it leads to a hallway of a school. You look back and notice that the teacher is looking at you strangely. Again, the teacher and students are indescribable. You can only tell who is the teacher by the fact they are in front for the class.

There is an empty seat at the desk. DO you sit there or leave?

Sit there.

You sit there and everything suddenly becomes slightly clearer. You can now see colours in people and what's written on the board.

The room feels familiar. In fact, so does everything else around you...

You spend the time actually doing class work with the hopes something will happen to explain what is happening to you. However, only your ability to perceive a few more details like properly being able to identify gender and hearing voices. 

You have no idea how you actually did your class work other than you could and did. It feel familiar. The bell rings and you leave with everyone else, and as you exit the classroom to the hallway of the school you don't know but feel as if you do, you are returned to the very same room you started in when you woke up.

There is a banging on the door.

Once again I go to the door and ask who is there. hoping it is not a repeat of what has already happened.

You wake up.

...

You have no idea why this is happening, but it is. You are in a different room and the door is banging. 

You let out a groan and mutter "Not again".

I go to the door and try to open it, but only every so slightly, so I can close it again if need be.

It's only the bathroom.... And nothing is in here...

You think the banging may have been your brain just playing up, what with everything not making sense and all.

Now... what will you do? You think have some time to yourself, you may as well do something.

I observe what's in the room.

You look around and note the the room seems generic... what with all the lack of details again. You were pretty sure you were doing something right back in the..... you know what, you don't remember anything.

You FEEL like you do, but really, you can't remember anything aside from language and motor skills.
