What if ? A scenario.
So a while ago I said I had this idea but I wasn't gonna d anything with it as we are still working on Vals history. But today this popped into my head.
The greatest weakness of humans in Val is their inability to unite under one leadership. This has caused the humans to war amongst each other so much that most countries in centrea are dirt poor and border on anarchy. The only real military power thats worth something is the DCGF. A neutral mercenary army that isolated itself in the desert.
The other races mock the humans for this failure but at the same time they fear what would happen if the humans managed to unite themselves. This is a possible future for Val if the humans get their shit together.
Present day: DCGF is politically neutral. All ther centrean countries lay in ruin or are attempting to rebuild after the last great war.
+5 years: Countries in centrea have failed to rebuild themselves and most of them are in a state of anarchy. Or are constantly at civil war. DCGF remains neutral.
+6years: Countries keep forming and dissolving in a matter of months. Monsters roam the streets of any non fortified city.
+8years: Countries try to center themselves in fortified cities. Monsters follow.
+9years: One City state (unnamed) knows they won't last long in this chaos, they request the DCGF for help. DCGF is reluctant.
+10years: DCGF gives in to demand and goes to the city state that requested their help. They set up medical centers, rebuild the cities defenses and open a training camp to help the citizens learn to defend themselves.
Meanwhile the other city states continue to crumble under the influence of poverty and assault by monster hordes.
+11years: City state succesfully rebuilt by DCGF. The other City states cry for help.
+12years: The DCGF spreads its help and with it, its influence across the city states of centrea.
+14years: The upper part of Centrea slowly recovers with help from the DCGF.
+15years: The city state that was once the capital of the Blackshroud empire falls. Its citizens flee upward to safer city states.
+18years: The DCGF Unites upper centrea and renames itself "the Guard Force of Centrea".
+20years: The GFC attempts to drive the monsters out of lower Centrea. They now control 3/4th of Centrea.
+22years: The (slightly) xenophobic high elves grow weary of the GFC. Fearing the humans will become too powerfull they launch a preemptive strike.
+23years: The GFC succesfully defends against the High elven attack.
+26years: The GFC controls 95 % of Centrea. The High elves panic and launch another attack and begin to build walls.
+27years: Cities bordering the High elven kingdom grow tired of being attacked and demand revenge. The GFC delivers.
+28years: The GFC tears down the elven walls before they are fully buillt and warn the High elves to leave them alone, or else.
+29years: The High elven people don't want a war but their Leaders decide otherwise and attack again. The GFC prepares for war.
+33years: The GFC marches up and conquers 1/4th of the high elven kingdom. The High elves stand no chance against the human superior numbers and technology.
+35years: The GFC marches up to the High elven Citadels gates and attempt to start negotiations to end the war. The High elves cower in fear but their pride keeps them from admitting defeat.
+36years: The dark elves see their chance and take it. They launch a full assault on the weakened high elves. The GFC takes the high elven citadel, the high elven leaders flee.
+37years: The high elven kingdom falls and is divided between the humans and the Dark elves.
+45years: The GFC is thriving and quickly gaining in both economic and military power.
The Dark elves, who's Queendom now surrounds it, decides to try to conquer the wood elf region.
+50years: The wood elves and Faeries are losing quickly and ask the other races for help. Help comes in the form of the dwarves and the GFC. But its almost too late.
+51years: The few remaining wood elves join the GFC and the Faeries flee to the dwarven kingdom. The GFC and the Dwarves join forces against the Dark elves.
+63years: After a long war the Dark elves are defeated. The spoils of War are divided.
+66years: Arguments break out over distribution of the Elven regions.
+70years: The Humans and dwarves roll into a war.
+87years: The GFC now controls all of the elven lands and has pushed the dwarves back into their mountain ranges.
+102years: The GFC requires more resources for their enormous empire. They invade the Dwarven mountains to conquer their mines.
+125years: The GFC has conquered Underhaven, home of the dwarves no more. The GFC renames themselves "Val Guard force".
+159years: The VGF consists of 70% humans.
+169years: The Goblins wish to join the VGF. But the Orcs protest. (Start9)
+173years: Orcs declare war on Goblins.
+175years: Goblins are losing and request help from VGF
+176years: VGF intervenes on behalf of the goblins. The remaining goblins join the VGF, the orcs resist stubbornly.
+180years: some Orcs surrender and join the VGF. The Others are decimated.
+215years: The VGF reclaims Hel from the Undead and eradicates most of them.
+687years: The Faeries go extinct. Humans are 80% of Vals total population.
+700years: With the Faeries gone Vals mana supply slowly declines. This is problematic because Mana is needed to power most of Vals technlogy.
+850years: With the help of the remaining other races the VGF builds the first space fleet in Vals history.
In hopes of finding Mana crystals on neighbouring planets, they set out.
+900years: No mana crystals found. Space technology keeps improving but can't go outside of local star system.
+974years: Mana crystals found on Moon of a local gas giant.
+1000years: discovery: Gas giant's moon's surface is made out of 40% mana crystal.
+1100years: The vast amounts of mana crystals are used to power and develop new technology: Mana gates. These allow spaceships to travel to far away star systems without actually doing the distance.
+1490years: The VGF has found many hospitable planets and divided them among the former races of Val in order to rebuild their populations. Humans remain in control however. They change their name to signify their mastery of their Galaxy (named Zaeon) "The Zaeon Guard Force".
+1690years: The ZGF has spread over half of the Zaeon galaxy. Val itself is abbandoned due to lack of Mana crystals. The races of Val live mostly in peace.
+1978years : The ZGF makes its first contact with non Valean life forms, the Yeghrn ( A tri-gendered species that specializes in PSI). It wasn't pretty.
+2064: The Yeghrn are also after mana crystals. Apparently new to the concept of competition, they are agressive against the ZGF. A War for the Galaxy starts.
The ZGF is a very strict organization with clear ranks and orders. But there is one exception. An elite squad of soldiers that answer directly to the council of the ZGF and only to them. Their methods are.. questionable but their results are not. This highly skilled team travels the galaxy to find and eliminate the Yeghrn threat wherever it pops up. They are named after an ancient guild that was the DCGF's Ally from before the unification of Centrea, They are ChaoZ.IN SPAAAAACEEEE!!!

I'm still working out the details of these aliens. I'm having a hard time deciding on how they should look like. I have however decided that their main abilities center around PSI.
I also decided to make them tri-gendered, to make them more alien like.
Theres the Seed makers (equivelant of males).
The Egg holders (equivelant of females but have no wombs)
And the Womb carriers (they are the ones that carry the babies while they grow.)
I'm thinking of making the womb carriers protected by natural armor to protect the babies. But unable to use PSI.
Meanwhile the males and females are more squishy but have acces to PSI powers.
All of them have acces to advanced technology.
As a culture they're very aggressive. If they want something they'll take it and take out anything that stands in their way. This might be caused by their history, which was filled with war. They had to share the few resources of their almost barren home planet with two other races. They won and the other two races went extinct. But they still have that aggression that helped them win back then. Even though they no longer need it.
Maybe one day they'll realize they don't have to fight and the war will end but untill then..

Pretty much, but worse. On the other hand they have equality between the sexes. So it kind of balances out. Also, no religion.
Basically they're the nicest people (aliens are people too) you'll find. As long as you're one of them. (Which is something humans don't always seem to do.)

Finished the rough design of the "females". AKA the ones with the eggs.
Note that skin colors can vary from slightly lighter (than the pic) to black-ish. The bright color is fluorescent and can be gold,green,red,blue (maybe others dunno)
The "hair" are horns and come in a variety of shapes but the differences are minimal.
And no those aren't breasts. At least not technically. The males have them too. But they look different for them. (Just a fluorescent chest kinda.)

Some info on the humans. Thanks to Dean some of them now worship the almighty Helix. Entire cities (even one planet) are named after Helix. At the same time some have adopted another religion, that of the Dome. The two often get into arguements and wars.
Most of this conflict takes place on the moon named Start9. Which orbits a large planet that is too toxic to live on, named Old Amber. Becase of its amber like color. Start9 however is filled with life. And it is there that both religions started, both want to claim it as their home planet which has caused conflict after conflict.
One of the major influences of the Helixians are the Helix portals. (The portals that se mana to teleport space ships across the galaxy.) Just as their name suggests they are indeed helix shaped.
