You ask about why the hell they're selling fog-horns.


"Well... You haven't heard of the legends? Long ago Kanto was regurarly covered in a thick fog. Along with the fog came hordes of pokémon. The fog drove them out of their homes. Scared and lost in the fog these pokémon would attack anything they saw. Including humans. So When the fog appeared a town guard would sound the fog horn to let everyone know they should close their windows and doors. Because anyone caught outside in the fog risked being attacked and the fog's density prevented anyone from seeing where they were. Making it impossible to save them, many people died back then.

Eventually the fog stopped coming so now these fog-horns are mostly just sold because of traditions and such. But then again, who knows if the fog will ever return?

You pull out one of your pokeballs and look at it. You shake it around a bit.

"..What are you doing?" Shelly asks with a confused look.
'... Making sure its empty?" You answer.

The pokeball reminds you of the fact that you should catch some more pokémon. Kiro by himself won't get you very far. So you head east hoping to catch something there. Maybe do some training while you're at it as well.

As soon as you leave Viridian you are attacked by three (Lv 7) spearow. 
You send out Kiro.

Kiro uses thundershock Two spearows get hit directly and are paralyzed but don't faint. The third one dodges the attack completely. The third spearow Pecks kiro. It does light damage. The other two can't move.

Kiro growls and lowers the opposing spearows attack. The non paralyzed one pecks Kiro and deals light(er) damage. The other two can't move.
You throw a pokéball at the paralyzed ones. The healthy one swoops in and deflects it.
The ball missed!

Kiro uses thunderwave. The other spearow gets paralyzed mid flight and falls to the ground. It loses a bit of health. One of the already paralyzed ones manages to dash to Kiro and pecks him. Critical hit, Kiro's health is down to half.
You throw a pokeball at the third spearow. The ball wobbles a bit before the ping.
Congrats you caught a Spearow.

Kiro nods before turning to the remaining Spearow and finishing them off with a thundershock. Kiro wins, he levels up to lv 10. (health still at half)


"That went great! You're getting good at this!" Shelly Congratulates you.

>Continue looking for wild pokemon without healing.

>Heal Kiro with a potion.

You heal Kiro back up to full health before returning him to his pokeball. You continue your search for pokémon. Not finding anything here you decide to head further east to look there. But then..

"You two trainers?"

You turn to look towards the female voice. A redheaded girl stands against a wall tossing a pokeball up in the air and catching it, repeatedly.

"I'm not but he is." Shelly answers her.

The redhead smirks. "Well then, I challenge you to a pokemon battle little boy."
She grabs the pokeball she was juggling and throws it higher up in the air. An energetic Cyndaquil (lv 12) bursts out and lights up its back with a large flame.

Knowing trainer battle challenges can't be refused or ignored, you send out Kiro.

"Az use ember!" The girl orders her cyndaquil.
Cyndaquil is faster and fires a small ball of fire at Kiro. Its a critical hit, Kiro loses a third of his health. Kiro responds with a thunderwave that paralyzes the Cyndaquil.



"Smart move." The trainer smirks.



"You can do this!" Shelly cheers.

Kiro brushes off some burned fur and jumps up using thundershock on cyndaquil. It loses a fifth of its health. It can't move because paralyzed.

Kiro manages to outspeed the paralyzed Cyndaquil and hits it with a thundershock. A critical hit! Its health is down to half.



"Urgh." The trainer groans.



"Use smokescreen!"

The cyndaquil manages to move despite its paralysis and releases a stream of black smoke. Making it hard for Kiro to see.

Kiro Growls. The Cyndaquil's attack fell. It used another ember aiming for the spot where the growl came from. Hitting Kiro directly, a critical hit! Kiro is down to a third of his full health. He groans in pain.

Kiro jumps up out of the dissipating smoke and launches a thundershock at the cyndaquil. It tries to dodge but is too slow. The attack brings down its health to roughly the same amount as Kiro has left.
The cyndaquil fires another ember that hits Kiro. Kiro hits the ground but bites through the pain and gets back up. His health being seriously low.


"Kiro is in a lot of pain! You should heal him!" Shelly says.

Kiro and the Cyndaquil look at each other, both panting. Cyndaquil's fire flares up higher while Kiro's cheeks spark with electricity.



"Lets finish this!" Your opponent yells.

Kiro runs up and thundershocks the cyndaquil. A critical hit, it loses a third of its health. It responds with an ember, also a critical hit right in kiro's face.
Kiro also lose a third of its health.

Kiro did exactly that. Both pokemon were getting tired so Kiro had a bit of trouble hitting Cyndaquil. But still hit thanks to the paralysis inflicted earlier. Its health drops to fifty percent. It responds with an ember. Kiro tries to dodge but fails. He gets back up and notices his tail is on fire, he stops drops and rolls before the fire gets bigger.


"Pii.. ka" Kiro is relieved and turns his attention back to the battle. His health at 40 percent-ish.


"Oh dear, they look tired." Shelly comments.


"I have to admit this is getting pretty exciting! Go Az! Show them who's the better pokémon here!"


"CYYYYNNN!!"

Encouragement wasn't working, and Kiro seemed to work with anger, maybe this would work as better motivation.


Kiro shot a glare at you. (Even though he can't learn that move.) 
Cyndaquil took its chance and used ember. Kiro tried to jump out of the way but was too late. His health drops down to 20 percent. He retaliates with a thundershock and cuts cyndaquil's health down to 20 percent too.
Both pokemon pant, exhausted.


"Oh no, kiro.." Shelly comments.

This might be the last move. Potions restore health but you doubt that Kiro will have the energy to keep fighting after this, potion or not. Your only hope is that he can outspeed the cyndaquil one more time.

The two pokémon launch their final move at each other. The ember collides with the thundershock and they explode. Both pokémon are sent flying back. neither of them manages to get up. Its a draw. 


"Huh, looks like a tie." your opponent says as you both return your pokemon to their balls.


"No! Yu here still has a Pokemon left! He can still beat you!"


"Wait.. is that true? Well ...crap, That means I lost. I don't have any pokémon left to fight with." She sighs.


"Yes, the league rules state that a trainer doesn't lose until they are out of usable Pokémon." Shelly nods.


"Indeed. Oh yeah, Yu right? My name is Mii. This was fun, lets battle again next time okay? I won't lose again though." She smirks as you two shake hands.

She then walks off. 

You win 1200pk. But Kiro doesn't gain any exp due to fainting.

>"Gotta go back to the pokecenter, heal up."

"Yeah, good idea." Shelly nods.

You two head back to the pokecenter and heal up.
"So what now?" Shelly asks.

>Head east, gotta get a Mankey. No idea why, but it will lead us towards a jagger path of rocks towards meaning.

You decide to head back east to resume your interupted quest for a mankey. You quickly arrive in the tall grass when suddenly, a male nidoran!(lv6)

"OH A POKEMON!" Shelly announces the obvious.

You check your pokedex to see what info it has on nidoran. But you can't find it so you click on pikachu's entry instead and check its cry. "Pikaa" That does indeed sound like Kiro, only with less aggression.

You then decide to make sure of it and send out Kiro. "Pikaa! 3:<"
While he's outside you tell him to thunderwave the nidoran while you browse the pokedex searching for it.

Kiro nods and vents his frustration of losing the last battle by paralyzing the nidoran. It can't move.
