ChaoZ: A Royal pain in the elves.

"You didn't know shit."

Jex yelled out to Rol. He twirled his staff in front of him and slammed it on the ground. He started swinging his staff in front of him, left to right, as a multitude of fire arrows released themselves from the staff.


"Sagitta Magica! Series Fulgaris!"

"I knew breaking the wall was a me idea and therefore bad."

Rol whined, still swatting.

Some of the arrows hit a tentacle but didn't seem to have much effect. The arrows that made it through were blocked by the psychic shield.
Fluffy was hit by a tentacle and was thrown against a wall.
A bunch of barely visible strings crept towards Rol and Jex's legs. Meanwhile the tentacles kept up their assault.

"Any idea how to break a psychic shield?"

Rol asked, while just noticing the strings, but not having any clue as to what they could be doing.

"What are those strings man?"


The bounty hunter continued to try to match the attacking tentacle with his shadows.

"Strings?"

Jex noted. He looked down and scanned the surrounding area. Cursing he slammed his staff onto the ground once more.


"Glacie!"

Casting the ice spell, he released a burst of magic that would extend from the end of his staff through the ground. He would then raise his staff and hold it like a rifle.


"Sagitta Magica! Series Lucis!"

Light arrows shot at the monster. He needed to find out what it was weak against.

The thin strings around Jex instantly froze up and stopped moving.
The strings around Rol latched onto his legs and restrained him, crawling upward slowly.
Meanwhile fluffy got back up and bit into a tentacle.
Jex's light arrows impacted the shield but didn't seem to do much.
The Jellyfish tried to slam one of its tentacles against Jex.

Rol's shadows creep beneath his equipment, expanding lightly to give the bounty hunter more freedom to move.

"Really gross, ew."

The bounty hunter unsheathed the bayonets from his guns and tried cutting at strings.

Jex stuck to the ground and pulled himself down, attempting to dodge the tentacle.


"Sagitta Magica! Series Glacie!"

10 ice arrows shot straight at the monster.

Rol manages to free himself from the strings but then a tentacle manages to get past the shadows and tries to hit him. Meanwhile Fluffy continues struggling with another tentacle.
Jex narrowly dodged the tentacle but another one was right behind it. Luckily one of the arrows hit it and froze it instantly. Another tentacle also freezes but the psychic shield takes the arrows without a problem.

"Rol! Try hitting it with your grenades! Your shadows! Anything!"

Jex yelled out. He swung his staff forward and started shooting ice bolts at the exposed tentacles, trying to immobilize the monster as much as he could.

The bounty hunter falls to the ground to avoid the tentacle that was attacking him.

"I am slightly pre-occupied, one moment." Rol said as he scrambled to his feet, hah scrambled what a weird word. "Do you know anything about psyche barriers? Like places I should specifically throw things? Or just fuck all?"


Rol returned to his shadow combating tentacle position, but with his guns drawn in case of strings, he fired bullets at the barrier. 


"Cole, help out the manticore." The shadow creature, popped and complied heading towards Fluffy.

The ice bolts hit and froze most of the tentacles. Leaving only a few mobile ones.
The one fluffy was struggling with had also frozen. The manticore smashed the frozen tentacle into pieces with his stinger.
As the tentacle shatters the hole in the shield it came through closes up. It takes about two seconds to fully close the hole left by the tentacle.

The bullets don't seem to much more than the arrows did. Meanwhile fluffy attacked another unfrozen tentacle with help from Cole.

Jex glanced at Fluffy, tracing the frozen tentacle as it shattered. It left the psychic barrier open where it was attached, but not for long. Smirking, he twirled his staff.

"Rol! Shoot towards where the tentacles are coming from!"
 
Spinning his staff to gain momentum, he slammed it against another frozen tentacle. Quickly taking his sights, he shot 5 fire arrows straight at the base, where the tentacle met the shield.

"Aye aye cap'n." 

The bounty hunter said as he focused his attention on the places the tentacles.

"I'd try to get some explosives in there, but the tentacles are in the way. Break some then bombs away." 

The frozen tentacle shatters and three of the fire arrows make it through the shield before it closes. The arrows damage the jelly fish. Rol's bullets also get through but don't seem to do much to it.
Three of its remaining unfrozen tentacles lashed out at Rol, Jex and Fluffy. (One at each.)

"Well, damn. Next time."

Rol says, prepping to actually throw explosives next time the tentacles are destroyed giving him a chance to.

"Here we go." The bounty hunter says as a tentacle lash towards him, he contorts his shadows to wrap around the tentacle hopefully to constrict it with enough force to shred it.

He grinned and started trying to hit the tentacles, yet to no avail. He was missing too much and got too entranced with aiming that he was unprepared for the monster's attack. He was struck by the tentacle, completely out of guard.

The shadows manage to shred the tentacle and open up a hole in the shield. Giving Rol a chance to throw explosives into it.
Meanwhile Jex is knocked agains the wall. Another tentacle also tries to slam into him while he is down. But it's interupted when an explosive thrown through the hole by Rol explodes.
The psychic shield shatters and the Jellyfish is damaged by the blast.
Fluffy bites off one of the tentacles while the Jellyfish is flinching.

"Ayy it worked."

The bounty hunter said after his explosive did the damage thing.

"Jex you wanna hit the thing with arrows now? yes?"

Rol asked, shooting at the jellyfish (likely to no avail)

Jex grunted and got back up. Pushing himself off the ground he focused his vision as it blurred from the impact.

"Damn."

He held his staff up and pointed it up at the jellyfish.


"Sagitta Magica! Series Lucis!"

20 bolts of light magic quickly shot towards the monster.

The bullets did indeed not do much. But the light arrows all hit and made holes in the Jellyfish's body. Revealing a glowing purple light inside.
Fluffy pounced on the jellyfish and repeatedly stabbed it with his stinger. Making more holes before being thrown off wen the jellyfish started rotating.
The rotation started going faster and faster before the jellyfish suddenly released a psychic shockwave that traveled through the entire room.
Fluffy and cole both got hit by it and were slammed against the wall.
The shockwave also came straight at Jex and Rol.

The bounty hunter tried to quickly throw up a shadow wall, but it wasn't well layered and was fairly flimsy.

"This'll probably hurt."

Jex swept his staff in an arc in front of him. A line of magic was traced on the ground where his staff went over.


"Protegendum!"

A wall of magic suddenly formed in front of him, shaped like a rectangle, emerging from the line of magic on the ground.


"Sagitta Magica! Series Lucis!"

He shot. His eyes scanned the jellyfish as he saw the purple light.

The shadowwall was too thin to hold back the shockwave, only dampening it a bit. Rol still was hit and thrown back, falling to the ground.
Jex's magic wall was stronger and protected him. The light arrows he fired all hit the jellyfish who had to recover after that psychic attack and was too slow to protect itself.
The arrows hit its glowing center and the jellyfish exploded. Covering the entire room in transparent slime.


In the middle of the pool where the Jellyfish came from a hole opened up. A ladder in the hole lead further down to a dark room.
Fluffy got up and shook the jellyfish remains from himself.

Jex stayed behind his wall when the monster exploded, protecting himself as much as he could from the slime. He looked at where the monster once stood and stared at the ground, where the ladder descended. It had seemed that was the only way forward. He was careful not to touch the slime, unsure if it was safe and hopped on his staff, flying towards the hole. He jumped off and caught the staff, holding it with his other hand as he slid down the ladder.


"Come on, Rol!"
